Number of Vacancies
This recruitment is being conducted for 3518 apprentice positions across different divisions and workshops. Vacancies are available in trades like Fitter, Welder, Painter, Electrician, Carpenter, Machinist, Diesel Mechanic, Plumber, Wireman, Electronics Mechanic, PASAA, COPA, and Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) among others.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must meet the educational and age-related requirements as per their category.
Educational Qualification
- Fresher Category (Non-ITI):
- Fitter, Painter, Welder – Passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks.
- Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) – Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with at least 50% marks.
- Ex-ITI Category:
- Must have passed Class 10 (with minimum 50% marks) and also completed ITI in the relevant trade from a recognized institution.
- For trades like Electrician and Electronics Mechanic, candidates must have studied Science subjects in Class 10.
Note: The 50% marks rule does not apply to SC/ST and PwBD candidates.
Age Limit (as on 25 September 2025)
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age for Freshers: 22 years
- Maximum Age for Ex-ITI/MLT candidates: 24 years
Relaxation in upper age limit:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- SC/ST: +5 years
- PwBD: +10 years (additional relaxation applicable for reserved categories)
Stipend During Training
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per government rules:
- Freshers (10th pass): ₹6,000/-
- Freshers (12th pass): ₹7,000/-
- Ex-ITI candidates: ₹7,000/-
The stipend increases by 10% in the second year and 15% in the third year of training.
Selection Process
There will be no written test or interview for this recruitment. Selection will be based purely on merit:
- Freshers: Based on marks in Class 10 (converted to 200 marks).
- Ex-ITI: Based on marks in Class 10 (converted to 100 marks) and ITI marks (converted to 100 marks).
- MLT: Based on marks in Class 12 (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
In case of a tie, preference will be given to the older candidate, and if the date of birth is the same, then the candidate who passed the qualifying exam earlier will be considered.
