Udaipur girl Mansvi Agrawal has made the whole of Rajasthan proud. On December 12, 2025, she reached the top of Vinson Massif, the highest mountain in Antarctica, and hoisted the Indian flag there. She is the first woman from Rajasthan to do this. In fact, no man from the state has reached this tough peak before either.
Vinson Massif stands about 16,500 feet high, fully covered in ice and snow. The place is at the end of the world, with no people living for thousands of kilometres around. Temperatures can drop to minus 60 degrees Celsius. Because of these hard conditions, climbing it is one of the most difficult tasks in mountaineering. Only about 50 climbers from across the world make it to the top each year. Fewer than 10 Indians have done it so far, and now Mansvi’s name is added to that small list.
Years of Hard Training Behind the Success
This big win comes from years of tough training and discipline. Mansvi completed basic and advanced mountaineering courses from the Mountaineering Institute in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling, West Bengal. Both these places are run by the Indian Army. The training includes staying on snowy peaks above 6,500 metres for about a month and doing hard practice.

She also got special training from the Swami Vivekanand Rock Climbing Institute run by the Gujarat government. She is even a certified instructor in this field.
Aim to Conquer Seven Summits
Earlier this year, Mansvi has already climbed Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, and Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest in Africa. Her goal is to reach the top peaks of all seven continents next year and complete the famous Seven Summits challenge.

Excellence in Sports, Studies and Research Too
Along with climbing, Mansvi has done well in other areas. She was a national-level shooter in 10-metre rifle events and reached up to the fourth round of selection for the Indian team.
In studies, she finished a five-year law course from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, and then got a postgraduate degree. Right now, she is doing PhD research on environmental law. Recently, she cleared the UGC Assistant Professor eligibility exam with 99.2 percentile. She also teaches as an assistant professor at Singhania Law College in her area.
Inspiration for the Youth
Mansvi’s story shows that with strong will, hard work and discipline, nothing is impossible. She has become a living example of courage and balance for the youth of the country, especially girls.

Her father T.R. Agrawal is a retired senior officer from Rajasthan Finance Service, and mother Saroj Gupta teaches history at Meera Girls College. Their guidance and values have played a big role in her success.
What People Are Saying
Many people have praised Mansvi for this achievement. Local leaders and mountaineering experts have called it a proud moment for Rajasthan. One mountaineering coach said, “Girls like Mansvi are showing the world that Indian women can conquer any height with determination.”
