Greater Noida/Banswara, September 25, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi lit up India’s economic and sustainable future today, launching the third Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS-2025) in Greater Noida and unveiling ₹1.22 lakh crore in development projects in Rajasthan’s Banswara. On the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the visionary behind integral humanism, PM Modi’s visits wove together trade ambition and green innovation, showcasing Uttar Pradesh as a global manufacturing hub and Rajasthan as a beacon of clean energy

Greater Noida: Unlocking UP’s Trade Potential
The day began at 9:30 AM in Greater Noida’s India Expo Centre & Mart, where PM Modi, joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated UPITS-2025 under the theme “Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here.” Running from September 25 to 29, this five-day expo expects over 2,400 exhibitors, 1.25 lakh business-to-business visitors, and 4.5 lakh business-to-consumer attendees. Showcasing Lucknow’s Chikan embroidery, Moradabad’s brassware, and Bhadohi’s carpets, it’s a celebration of Uttar Pradesh’s crafts and emerging IT sector.
In his speech, PM Modi hailed the expo as a “bridge to global markets,” tying it to the “One District One Product” (ODOP) scheme. He credited GST reforms for easing tax burdens, making life simpler for small businesses compared to the old days when ₹100 purchases carried ₹31 in taxes. Russia, the partner country, brought flair with displays on joint ventures like the AK-203 rifle plant in Amethi, a boost to Indo-Russian ties amid global supply shifts.
Yogi Adityanath called it a “Diwali bonanza” for artisans, projecting ₹2,200 crore in export orders and ₹40 crore in on-site sales. The expo’s innovation zone, with AI-driven farming demos, impressed foreign buyers from Southeast Asia and Europe. Security was tight, with 2,500 personnel, drone bans, and traffic diversions ensuring smooth access. Women-led startups showcasing eco-friendly Khadi fashion added a modern touch, while social media buzzed with #UPITS2025, eyeing Uttar Pradesh’s $1 trillion economy goal by 2027.

Banswara: Fueling Rajasthan’s Clean Energy Leap
By 1:45 PM, PM Modi was in Banswara, Rajasthan’s tribal heartland, paying tribute to Upadhyaya before unveiling projects worth ₹1,22,100 crore across energy, water, rail, and urban infrastructure. The star was the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project (4×700 MW PHWR reactors), a ₹42,000 crore venture by Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Ltd. “This nuclear marvel will power Rajasthan’s dreams and secure India’s energy future,” Modi told cheering locals in Bhil attire, highlighting plans for 10 such units nationwide.
The PM-KUSUM scheme’s 3,517 MW solar push, costing ₹16,050 crore, will benefit 6.5 lakh farmers across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka, cutting diesel use like rural electrification drives. The Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) Phases I-II, at ₹2,500 crore, will irrigate 2.82 lakh hectares, serving 1.34 million people in arid zones, much like the Indira Gandhi Canal’s impact.

Connectivity got a boost with the 176-km Mavli-Bhilwara-Madla Gudha rail doubling (₹2,100 crore), the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s Haryana-Rajasthan stretch (₹3,000 crore), Jaipur Metro Phase 1 extension, and airport upgrades in Jaipur and Jodhpur. Modi also launched Vande Bharat trains (Bikaner-Delhi Cantt, Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt) and the Udaipur-Chandigarh Express, plus e-rickshaws under PM e-DRIVE for green mobility.
In a warm moment, PM Modi met PM-KUSUM women farmers from Napla village, who shared how solar pumps doubled their yields. “Your hard work lights up India,” he said, echoing Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya vision. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma projected 1.5 lakh jobs, a lifeline for tribal youth.

A Vision for Viksit Bharat: Trade Meets Sustainability
PM Modi’s visits tied trade to green growth, signaling India’s post-pandemic rise. UPITS-2025, growing from 1,914 exhibitors in 2023 to today’s scale, aims for ₹5,000 crore in MoUs, boosting ODOP and MSME exports. Rajasthan’s ₹1.22 lakh crore projects tackle power shortages (nuclear/solar) and water scarcity (ERCP), while rail and road upgrades lift tourism and trade.
Challenges remain: environmentalists call for nuclear safety at Mahi Banswara, citing seismic risks, while critics label the events as “election sops” amid inflation. Modi countered, praising GST and platforms like UPI/ONDC for fair growth – “Progress for all, not just a few.” On X, #ModiInRajasthan trended, with supporters celebrating “tribal empowerment” and entrepreneurs eyeing ODOP synergies.
As Navratri begins, these launches shine like festive diyas, lighting the path to a $5 trillion economy. PM Modi’s vision – innovate boldly, sustain wisely – drives India toward Viksit Bharat by 2047, one project at a time.
